The OpenElect FreedomVote Tablet (FVT) was developed to provide your voters with a flexible and versatile tool that empowers them to vote independently and privately at the polls. The OpenElect FVT-Battery Backup Unit (FVT-B) has all the great features of the FVT plus an internal battery backup unit installed. The battery unit provides up to two hours of continuous power to the system in the event of a power failure under normal voting conditions.

Designed for the Future

The FVT exceeds the voting requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act’s (ADA) by offering state of the art features. Voters can navigate the ballot via the tablets intuitive touchscreen technology and an audio presentation. It offers a sophisticated text to speech engine and can present the ballot in all languages provided by the jurisdiction. The enhanced interface is intuitive, easy to use and suitable for users of all ages and skill levels.

Designed for Efficiency

The Early Voting, Vote Center and Election Day poll workers will find that the FVT is lightweight, compact, easy to setup and close down. The self-contained FVT case includes a touchscreen, barcode scanner, tethered keypad and a printer. Unisyn offers the option of adding a plug-and-play set of headphones and sip-and-puff device or other binary device to assist voters with their selections.

The poll worker will be amazed at the ease at which a ballot is initialized and can be populated with the use of the barcode scanner. This feature will expedite the voting process and help to eliminate long lines at the polls. The FVT can reduce the costs associated with pre-printed ballots by printing a paper ballot with just the push of a button. The ballot is then inserted into the FreedomVote Scan (FVS) or the OpenElect Voting Optical Scan (OVO) to be cast and tallied.
